Director of Sales and Marketing role at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts EMEA . The Director of Sales and Marketing (in conjunction with the Sales Team) conducts all day-to-day activities related to the sales function with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of property sales objectives. Achieves key performance objectives.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Area / Outbound Sales Offices and the General Manager to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the Hotel
- Assist in the development, implementation and sustaining of aggressive solicitation program focused on increasing business
- Work with Executive team to create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers’ needs and the market
- Analyze market information by using sales systems and implement strategy to achieve property's financial room and catering goals
- Assist Revenue Management with completing accurate six period projections
- Review sales and catering guest satisfaction results to identify areas of improvement
- Direct and manage the forecasting process in conjunction with the Revenue Department to ensure accurate, timely and complete information
- Compile and / or direct the preparation of the annual Sales & Marketing plans, quarterly updates and the annual Budget
- Execute exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program / event
- Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
- Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels (e.g., OSO, ASO) to ensure the property needs are being achieved and the sales efforts are complementary, not duplicate
- Attend customer events, trade shows and sales missions to maintain, build or develop key relationships with OSO / ASO Managers and customers
Human Resources
Responsible for HR leadership of direct reports and their teams (recruitment and selection, performance management (Appraisal / PDP), associate development and motivation, counselling / disciplinary issues)Maintain and enhance the open-door policy to all associates providing advice and guidance when needed in regards to their issues or concerns and / or grievancesEnsure that the hotels are fully compliant with Wyndham people processes and deadlines that govern all Wyndham properties, e.g. AES, Success Matters, Probation reviewsEnsure that the administration of the 3-month / 6 month review process in the operational departments and ensure that follow-up for all issues is done in timely manner and results of both follow-up and the initial reviews are communicated to all relevant partiesTalent Reviews are alive and active, and the target audience know why they are so importantEnsure 100% compliance with all mandatory training for departments; as well as the Departmental Trainers positively encouragedControl the LTO in the operational departments in conjunction with the DHR to ensure that any areas of concern are monitored and rectifiedConduct regular coaching sessions with HODs to further develop both their technical and management skillsManage the AES process for the operational departments to ensure follow-up meetings are done and staff members have timely feedbackConduct interviews for all Supervisory and HOD positionsReview manning and re-recruitment of all positionsTalent Reviews are alive and active, and the target audience know why they are so importantEnsure one CSR event takes place every quarterEnsure that you dine in the Associate restaurant at least three times a week and provide DHR feedbackCommunication

Prepare the expenses budget in conjunction with HODsEnsure vacation, PH and lieu days are used to the needs of the businessReview with the DoF / DHR the payroll figures and challenge the HODs with regards to overspending and casual usageEnsure that the payroll is submitted to HR on the agreed dateManagement
Train and develop the team and provide support when requiredEnsure all direct reports have a PDP to achieve their goalsEnsure that effective communication flow is maintained at all timesActively participate in the community involvement projects and initiatives together with the hotel’s management teamMaintaining a business environment based on the Code of Conduct and Company Vision5+ years of experience in hotel sales, marketing, or hospitality managementProven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targetsBachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, marketing, or a related fieldStrong leadership, communication, and negotiation skillsProficiency in CRM software, revenue management tools, and digital marketing platformsKnowledge of the hospitality industry, market trends, and competitor analysisAbility to work under pressure and adapt to changing market conditionsSeniority level
