Position Overview
The Account Executive / Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and supporting the Finance Department's operations. The role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently, work collaboratively, and uphold the financial integrity of Oryx Universal College.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Records and Reporting :
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journals, ledgers, and reconciliations.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support budget preparation and monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable :
Process invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely manner.Manage tuition fee collection, including payment plans and follow-ups on overdue accounts.3. Compliance and Auditing :
Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and organisational policies.Assist in the preparation of documents for internal and external audits.4. Financial Analysis :
Analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.Assist in cost analysis and financial forecasting.5. Other Duties :
Support the Chief Accountant with ad hoc tasks and special projects.Collaborate with other departments to provide financial advice and resolve queries.Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA is highly desirable.Experience : Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in an academic or higher education setting.Language Skills : Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Fluency in Arabic is an added advantage.Technical Proficiency :Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.Interpersonal Skills :Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and time management abilities.Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
