Overview
Perform welding duties using electric, acetylene, and / or inert gas shielded welding processes, pre-heating, brazing, head welding, tack welding, flame cutting, pressure welding, and heat treating. Utilize welding techniques and mathematics, and lay out angles, arcs, and circles for the creation and / or repair of structures. Interpret and apply knowledge of building plans and blueprints to maintain and repair metal structures. Responsibilities
Shall adjust and install lines and duct work to sustain HVAC / R systems. Shall make numerous types of joints using flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions on light and heavy structures constructed of a variety of weldable metals. Shall perform precision welding on jigs, dies and engineering equipment. Responsible for following a comprehensive safety program in compliance with Vectrus, OSHA and United States Air Force (USAF) requirements. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas. Responsible for following a comprehensive, flexible, and properly documented training program. Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools). Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet. Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Journeyman card for respective trade provided through a recognized apprentice program or State certification, and / or current or expired state Contractor’s license for the respective trade and / or evidence of passing the International Code Council (ICC) national journeyman or master certification exam (i.e., electrician, HVAC mechanic, plumber, etc.) and / or nationally recognized certification program and / or documented military journeyman level or higher experience in the respective trade, as identified on a DD214. Must have a current, valid U. S. Passport and Driver’s License (able to drive manual transmission). Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance prior to deployment. Must obtain an Air Force flight line driver’s license upon deployment. Must pass a flight line access test and obtain flight line access badge upon deployment. Must pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing and background checks. Candidates must successfully complete hands-on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training. Training includes the successful fit testing of DOD provided protective gear.
