We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy, Qatar for a JOB PURPOSE .
This role supports the Head of Section in managing marine engineering activities related to the design, development, coordination, implementation, execution, and control of marine works within Major Projects, ensuring alignment with the Company’s strategy, commitments, and goals.
The position provides specialized technical guidance in marine engineering, including problem-solving, decision-making, and analysis of marine infrastructure and facilities, applying innovative and analytical techniques to achieve Project objectives. The role-holder is also responsible for promoting, adhering to, and ensuring compliance with QAFCO’s Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Energy, and Quality systems and standards.
Key Accountabilities
Procurement, Bid Evaluation & Subcontractor Documentation : Participate in the review and technical evaluation of bids for marine works and equipment, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
Interface & Multidisciplinary Coordination : Act as the focal point for marine engineering interfaces with civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and product handling systems.
Fabrication, Inspection & Expediting : Oversee fabrication activities for marine structures and equipment at vendor and subcontractor facilities.
Profile
Ideally, you should hold a Bachelor's degree and have a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 5 years on major projects.
Experience in Marine Engineering Design and Technical Management is essential.
You should also possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, along with a good level of computer literacy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
