Join to apply for the SR. SYSTEMS ENGINEER (TRADING SYSTEMS) role at QatarEnergy .

Responsibilities

Assist delivery of the strategic vision for QatarEnergy Trading’s transformation, aligning it with long-term goals and architecture.
Work with key stakeholders to elaborate requirements, design and implement efficient application solutions.
Manage product backlogs and work with technical teams on implementation.
Work collaboratively and bring parties together from within IT and the commercial functions.
Work directly with the business teams, with a customer-first approach, communicating effectively with different levels and disciplines within the organization.
Assist with understanding the impact of business change and work with business teams to onboard and implement such change.
Provide expert support and required technical services to QET on related applications, in coordination with the other ICT entities.

Required Experience And Skills

Minimum of 9 years of work experience in Commodities trading with leading IOCs, trading houses, NOCs, or vendors in change, process, and technology.

Strong C / ETRM experience in designing and implementing solutions to enhance trading strategies, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.

Strong understanding of commodity markets (LNG is preferred), trading strategies, related organization, processes, risk management principles and related technologies solutions (C / ETRM, Fleet Management, Trading Platform, Market Analytics, etc).

End-to-end, multi-disciplinary knowledge in areas such as Commodities trading, Shipping and Finance with advanced knowledge of the front-to-back office trade lifecycle.

Specialized experience in at least one area, such as Physical LNG Trading, Cargo Operations, Shipping, Derivative & Emission Trading, Trading Risk and Finance, or Portfolio Optimization.

Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills. Ability to work with the unknown, own problems and make decisions.

Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.

Proven ability to manage backlog and relevant documentations with development team.

Enthusiastic and passionate about technology as an enabler in commodities trading.

Familiar with IT standards & best practices, architecture, integration, methods.

Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, and ability to communicate concepts as appropriate to management, stakeholders and vendors.

High proficiency with workplace applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), project management and collaboration tools (e.g. MS Project, Azure DevOps / Confluence Jira, Miro / Mural etc). Comfortable in working with SQL queries and Excel.

Experience with C / ETRM tools such as Openlink, TriplePoint, Allegro are preferred. Product knowledge of Planlogic EOS, Veson Nautical IMOS and SAP is an advantage.

Practical experience with agile frameworks, PMP or Prince2 is an advantage.

Postgraduate Qualification (MSc, PhD or MBA) is an advantage.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in technology or finance subject from an internationally recognized university.
