Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Urologist to join our team. As a Consultant Urologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of urological conditions in both male and female patients. You will provide specialized care in a clinical setting, perform surgeries, offer consultations, and work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities : Clinical Care : Provide expert consultations for patients with urological disorders. Diagnose and treat common and complex urological conditions, including urinary tract infections, kidney stones, prostate issues, cancers, incontinence, and male reproductive health. Perform diagnostic procedures such as cystoscopies, biopsies, urodynamic studies, and imaging interpretation (e.g., ultrasound, CT scans). Manage chronic urological conditions such as kidney disease, erectile dysfunction, and urinary incontinence. Prescribe and monitor medication and treatment plans. Surgical Duties : Perform a wide variety of urological surgeries, including minimally invasive procedures (laparoscopy, robotic surgery) and traditional open surgeries. Manage pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care of patients. Advise on and execute procedures for conditions such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), bladder cancer, renal disease, and more. Patient Management : Ensure excellent patient care by maintaining clear communication with patients and their families. Follow up with patients to monitor progress and adjust treatments as necessary. Provide counseling and support for patients undergoing surgical procedures, particularly in cases of cancer or infertility. Document all clinical findings and treatment plans in accordance with hospital guidelines. Collaboration & Teamwork : Work closely with other specialists, including oncologists, nephrologists, and gynecologists, in the multidisciplinary management of complex cases. Train, mentor, and support junior doctors, nurses, and medical staff. Participate in departmental meetings, case discussions, and peer review. Research & Education : Participate in ongoing medical research and contribute to the advancement of urological practices. Keep abreast of the latest urological techniques, technology, and medical literature. Educate patients and healthcare staff about new treatments, diagnostic techniques, and preventative measures. Administrative Responsibilities : Maintain accurate and timely medical records for all patients. Participate in departmental audits and ensure compliance with medical standards and protocols. Contribute to the development of hospital policies and procedures related to urology. Qualifications : Education : Medical degree (MBBS + MCh or DNB in Urology). Postgraduate qualification in Urology (e.g., FRCS, MRCS, or equivalent).
