Job Description
Perform disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of control valves, including globe, ball, butterfly, and plug valves.
Carry out mechanical overhauling of actuators (pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric) and accessories like I / P converters, positioners, and volume boosters.
Replace worn-out valve parts (e.g., plugs, seats, gaskets, diaphragms, seals) according to OEM specifications.
Work with OEM manuals and technical drawings to ensure proper servicing standards are met.
Assist in valve testing for leak checks, stroke testing, and calibration support in coordination with instrumentation teams.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety standards and procedures.
Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities , including checklists and service reports.
Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and preventive maintenance activities as required.
Coordinate with other technicians and supervisors to ensure timely job completion.
Requirements
Education & Certifications :
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related technical trade.
OEM training in valve maintenance (preferred).
Experience :
3–5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance of control valves in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, or industrial facilities.
Technical Skills :
Ability to use tools and equipment for valve disassembly and reassembly.
Basic knowledge of valve types, actuator functions, and sealing systems.
Familiarity with valve lapping, leak testing, and pressure testing procedures.
Other Requirements :
Ability to read mechanical drawings and service manuals.
Physically fit and able to work in plant / site conditions.
Willingness to work in shutdowns, rotational shifts, and extended hours.
