We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy, Qatar for a :
Senior Instrumentation and ICSS Engineer
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead and execute asset integrity assessments, upgrades and life extension studies for Instrumentation and Integrated Control & Safety Systems (ICSS) discipline.
- Ensure compliance with NOC and international standards (IEC, IEEE, API, ISO 55000, ISA).
- Define and implement proactive / reactive maintenance strategies.
- Support the development of integrity management systems and digital databases.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Provide technical input to key stakeholders
- Act as Technical Authority / Technical Administrator (TADM) on behalf of M&I ensuring that all ICSS studies and projects are carried out in accordance with NOC requirements
- Ensure NOC rules, specifications and procedures are followed, maintaining closed communication with all relevant departments
- Ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of Structural assets
ACTIVITIES
Contributing and assist the team lead to develop and maintain an incident free environment through maintaining a strong safety culture.Ensuring compliance with HSE (occupational) legislation, Company standards and procedures for continuous process, operational Safety & Plant Integrity.Conduct and define the most effective asset selection and strategyIdentify critical assets for assessmentAssess DCS, ESD, F&G, SCADA systems.Define maintenance strategies (proactive / reactive) and support execution.Gather design, operational, and maintenance dataDetermine Designed End of Service Life (DEOSL) and verify actual End of Service Life (VEOSL) together with upgrade pathsReview equipment condition.Support SIL, HAZOP, and loop checks.Perform the Asset Integrity AssessmentConduct data gap analysis and integrity risk reviewsSet up integrity databases and digital dashboardsDefine execution timelines and contracting strategiesCoordinate with OEM and 3rd-party engineering firms for detailed studiesExecute and report on the Asset Integrity Assessment as well as the Life Extension studiesPerform condition assessments, failure mode analysis, and life prediction modelingReview and validate 3rd-party reports and recommendationsPrepare technical reports and presentations for senior managementSupport CAPEX / OPEX planning based on findingsVisit offshore sites on task or project basis to enhance collaboration and supervision to sites to ensure successful delivery of job scopesAny other ad-hoc tasks as directed by line managerProfile
Bachelor's in Control Systems, Instrumentation / Electrical or Automation.
10-15 years of experience working in an oil & gas operator, with at least 5-10 years in Instrument and ICSS integrity and engineering
Skilled and experienced in working in a multi-cultural and highly technical specialized environment
Experience with CMMS (SAP PM), PowerBI dashboards, and integrity management tools
TÜV, Honeywell / Emerson / Siemens / ABB OEM certifications.
ISA CAP, TÜV Functional Safety Engineer.
You are fluent in English with both written and verbal communication
You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
