Job Description Wood has an opportunity for a Process Engineer to join our team in Qatar on a long-term basis. This is a key role within the Wood Doha office and will report to the Lead Piping Engineer.
Responsibilities
Provide technical assurance of Process designs through appropriate application of Shell technical standards and specifications, implementation of DCAF and review of design deliverables and activities.
Ensure schedule and cost considerations are included in design decisions, while maintaining primary responsibility to assure safe and appropriate quality designs.
Ensure Process Engineering activities are executed in alignment with Shell’s Project Delivery Roadmap and Opportunity Realization Process.
Develop strategies / conceptual designs during early project phases.
Support COMPANY in auditing construction field activities for compliance and assist in resolution of field non‑conformance issues as required.
Ensure design meets requirements of Shell’s HSSE Framework.
Design and develop, as required, innovative technical approaches to the broader process engineering issues and contribute to continuous business improvement initiatives.
Provide one‑stop‑shop process engineering support and delivery for QPH projects.
Accountability for process engineering deliverables and engineering execution planning support including provision of senior engineering expertise.
Proactively work with the Engineering Manager to keep projects on track and achieve Top Quartile performance for the portfolio.
Drive and deliver increasing effectiveness and efficiency in producing project designs through elimination, simplification, standardisation, and automation balanced against the need for Top Quartile FEL in Qatar Project Delivery Hub projects.
Support Management of Re Failures.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas related process Design and Engineering.
Experience from Front End Development through execution, commissioning and start‑up.
Minimum 3‑5 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas Project Delivery as a senior process engineer in a multi‑disciplinary workforce.
Fully conversant with process simulation tools.
Experience in the Middle East, knowledge of GTL, Gas Processing and Utilities, and front‑end / commissioning experience is an advantage.
Proven leadership skills and strong personal drive to meet deadlines and specific targets.
Good communication and report writing skills; experience of writing technical reports is essential.
Team player with evidence of collaboration to deliver on goals.
Strong commitment to HSSE Leadership and experience managing HSSE throughout all project phases.
Experience supporting engineering disciplines and project management.
Ability to work in a multi‑cultural environment.
Interfacing experience with other disciplines, e.g., electrical, rotating mechanical, civil, static mechanical, and technical safety.
Experience working on Shell projects is a distinct advantage.
