The Environmental Manager oversees and manages all processes related to environmental control within the organisation, ensuring alignment with both internal strategies and external regulations. This role is responsible for conducting audits, assessments, and implementing best practices to promote sustainable development and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the environmental performance of the organisation, developing and monitoring strategies for sustainable development.
- Conduct environmental audits and assessments, identifying and resolving issues, and ensuring necessary changes are implemented.
- Stay updated on international developments and best practices in environmental management.
- Provide professional expertise in the administration and support of environmental programmes.
- Develop systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations (local and international).
- Implement and monitor environmental policies, procedures, and norms as per the organisation’s systems.
- Maintain accurate reports, records, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental guidelines and standards.
- Develop and implement action plans for corporate sustainable development.
- Lead sustainable procurement initiatives for goods and services.
- Negotiate environmental service agreements and manage associated costs and revenues.
- Foster a positive approach to environmental issues and encourage participation in environmental initiatives.
- Support HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Excellent communication skills in English.In-depth knowledge of environmental compliance, statutory requirements, and Qatar regulations.Familiarity with ISO 14001 and environmental management systems and standards.Technical expertise in various environmental issues and scientific principles of environmental control.ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.Experience
Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 5 years in a relevant role.Experience in the GCC region (2 years) is a plus.Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.Professional qualification in Lead Auditor Course ISO 14001 or GSAS Certification.Seniority level
