Technical Sales Consultant, Power & Water Solutions
Join Emerson as a Technical Sales Consultant in the Power & Water Solutions (PWS) team. The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) is a strategic role that combines technical expertise with commercial leadership to drive project success across MEA.
Reporting to the MEA PWS Sales Director with a dotted line to the Proposal Directors SYSS MEA, the TSS leads the complete technical sales cycle for assigned projects, serving as the critical bridge between Sales, Project Pursuit, Proposal teams, and customers. The role requires exceptional ability to identify customer pain points and power structures, lead technical discussions, and translate complex requirements into compelling, winning solutions.
Responsibilities
- Implement the Pursuit Process and best practices outlined in the guidelines to ensure efficient and effective sales processes.
- Lead and establish Solution Architect for the project, selecting the best execution model and solutions from Emerson and SYSS portfolios to meet customer needs.
- Take the lead in addressing technical queries and discussions with customers, providing expert guidance and solutions.
- Participate in World Area POR Calls / Funnel Review discussions and act as consultant as required for targeted projects.
- Assist the Sales team in implementing the PPVVCC approach and ensure its effective implementation when leading a project.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with customers, especially during the Front‑End Engineering Design (FEED) phase and assist the pursuit team in positioning the right technologies.
- Conduct in‑depth comparisons of available solutions, supporting customers and teams with cost‑benefit analyses to aid decision‑making.
- Provide technical expertise for products and solutions to support customers and internal Emerson teams.
- Collaborate with other product Segments within Emerson to maximize the portfolio’s value proposition for customers.
- Meet and exceed assigned sales targets by promoting Emerson’s solutions and products.
- Ensure compliance with Emerson’s business processes, including DOA and TenderVet, as applicable.

10 years of experience in process automation / controls system domain.Bachelor’s degree.Customer systems experience from proposal or Solution Architect perspective.Strong understanding of Emerson and SYSS product portfolios.Previous project / proposal experience in control systems.Excellent technical knowledge of DCS, SIS, VMS, and Cybersecurity guidelines.Experience leading or participating in large mega projects, upgrade programs, or large programs.Understanding of costing and tendering for large projects.Effective communication with all stakeholders and conflict management.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Emerson Systems and Solutions proposal or Sales support team.Experience with at least one competitor’s systems.Culture & Commitment
