Field Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Conduct field sampling for various environments including groundwater wastewater seawater soil source emissions fugitive emissions ambient air and indoor air quality.
• Adhere to environmental and safety regulations during all field operations.
• Identify and assess the presence of asbestoscontaining materials (ACMs).
• Evaluate the condition of ACMs and determine associated risks.
• Operate laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers chromatographs and titration equipment to analyze chemical properties and compositions.
• Develop nonstandard chemical tests to address specific project needs.
• Conduct physical and chemical tests measuring properties such as pH density viscosity and solubility.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with lab equipment to minimize downtime.
• Accurately record and document experimental results ensuring consistency and compliance with quality standards.
• Analyze data interpret chemical test results and draw informed conclusions.
• Prepare detailed reports of findings including statistical analyses and actionable recommendations.
