الوصف الوظيفي4 or 5 years of higher education in Journalism, a journalist qualification or equivalent Strong experience as a multimedia (digital and TV) journalist in a news media outlet and experience in working with cameramen and producers Excellent command of English (C1 level). Any additional language is highly appreciated. Extensive general knowledge enabling the Journalist to cover diverse stories Excellent writing and oral abilities A solid understanding of and great passion for regional, European and world news. Deep knowledge of digital storytelling and production as well as real time digital performance and audience analysis (Chartbeat, Adobe Analytics, etc). Optimal knowledge of legal and industry compliance of all published / broadcast content, respect of video copyrights, industry standards, privacy. Good teamwork and interpersonal skills Proactive and demonstrates good stress management in a fast-paced working environment Solid understanding of Euronews\' objectives and operations Active on social media both for information gathering and communication purposes. Adaptability and flexibility in the face of unforeseen challenges Willing to travel to where events are taking place and be capable of covering their development on the ground. Euronews is Europe’s leading international news media operating TV channels and digital platforms in 13 languages : Arabic, English, French, Polish, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish. Euronews TV is available to more than 495 million households in 160+ countries via cable, digital satellite and terrestrial windows. 82% of Europe’s homes access Euronews TV channel. Euronews content is also distributed on websites, mobile apps, smart TV and social media.
In 2016, Euronews launched Africanews, the first pan-African multilingual news channel. Euronews also offers its expertise worldwide : in Europe with its affiliate channels Euronews Bosnia, Euronews Georgia, Euronews Albania, Euronews Serbia, Euronews Romania, and Euronews Bulgaria, bringing the total number of languages covered by Euronews to 19.
Euronews launched its Doha bureau in 2021 in partnership with Qatar Media City. The multi-cultural bureau is a regional hub that films original content and tells stories from across the Middle East and Asia. The Euronews Academy welcomes university students and graduates keen to have hands-on working experience within an international channel.
Main responsibilities
- Continuously explores and monitors the bureau’s area of content, identifying and proposing competitive stories, angles, elements of coverage, proposing a variety of content to the senior journalist and the managing editor.
- Identifies stories and proposes coverage, prepares stories, angles of coverage, searches for documentation, checks footage rights, edits packages.
- Searches, identifies, and books guests for stories, telephone or on-camera interviews, quotes, or digital interaction.
- Conducts assigned interviews, live and as-live broadcasts, reporting from mobile devices, live blog on digital.
