Seeking a Data Engineer / SQL Developer with 35 years of experience in advanced T‑SQL scripting, database optimization and performance tuning using Microsoft Azure SQL and SQL Server. Ideal candidate has a track record of maintaining high‑performing databases, troubleshooting queries and ensuring data reliability for business‑critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, maintain and optimize databases in Azure SQL and SQL Server
• Write, refine and troubleshoot advanced T‑SQL queries, stored procedures and functions
• Analyze execution plans, apply indexing strategies and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Verify query outputs by understanding business objectives and ensuring data accuracy
• Manage backups, security configurations and user access controls
• Leverage Power BI for data analysis and reporting
• Document database structures, configurations and performance improvements thoroughly
• Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting tools for proactive performance management
• Implement security and compliance measures across database environments
• Collaborate with developers, analysts and other stakeholders to ensure seamless database integration
• Use Git & Azure DevOps for version control adhering to best practices
