About the Role A leading energy operator in Qatar is looking for an experienced

Senior IC Security Engineer

to join its onshore operations team. This role focuses on implementing and maintaining Industrial Control Systems (ICS) security engineering standards, supporting sustainment activities, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policies and best practices throughout large-scale operational projects.

You will act as a subject matter expert for IC security, supporting project delivery, audits, and risk assessments, while driving system integrity and operational readiness across a complex technical environment.

Responsibilities

Implement and maintain IC security engineering specifications, procedures, and manuals.

Review and validate system and network architecture designs to ensure compliance with IC security standards.

Conduct and participate in risk assessments, technology evaluations, and disaster recovery simulations.

Oversee Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT / SAT) for new systems and upgrades.

Support operational readiness and system handover to IC security operations.

Lead or contribute to incident investigations and root cause analyses.

Provide technical guidance to IC custodians and technicians on security policies and compliance.

Assist in developing and executing periodic IC security self‑assessments and audits.

Maintain lifecycle management and inventory reviews of IC assets.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in IC security design and sustainment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or Computer) or Computer Science.

Minimum 6 years’ experience in oil and gas operations, engineering, or technical roles, with a focus on IC security.

Strong understanding of industrial control environments and operational technology (OT) security.

Hands‑on experience implementing security controls within IC or OT networks.

Knowledge of network security, IDS / IPS, SIEM, and other IC security monitoring tools.

Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.

Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Computer literate and comfortable with technical documentation.
