The Transfer Pricing (TP) Specialist is responsible for all transfer pricing matters in the department and handling the tax compliance of a portfolio of taxpayers. This includes assisting on the day-to-day operation of the regime for the portfolio of taxpayers assigned and on TP enquiries through verification / validation of taxpayers’ TP studies, developing an internal transfer pricing database, and providing technical assistance to the team on all TP matters.
Key Accountabilities
Manage a portfolio of taxpayers
and handle all tax compliance related matters including issuing Tax Cards, tax return processing, penalties, etc., ensuring these are administered efficiently and fairly.
Carry out risk assessments on tax returns of taxpayers and open and conduct enquiries where required.
Assist team members with technical input on enquiry cases and advance ruling requests which have a Transfer Pricing component.
Evaluate and critically assess benchmarking reports submitted by taxpayers.
Prepare benchmarking reports / studies to help challenge taxpayers’ studies if they are not appropriate or correct.
Develop a Transfer Pricing database based on taxpayers’ reported data.
Prepare data reports for management as required.
Assist the Head of Tax Projects with ongoing project work, including review of project deliverables.
Support the Managing Director of Tax, Manager – Tax Compliance and Head – Tax Projects in all areas of the operation of the Tax Department, as required.
Assist on all other tax administration, compliance and TP related matters within the department.
Qualifications, experience and skills
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree, and recognized accounting or preferably tax qualification
Minimum Experience :
At least 6 years’ Transfer Pricing experience working in either a tax compliance and advisory role or with a government tax department / Revenue authority.
