Job Description
Develop, implement, and ensure full compliance with environmental regulations, strategies, auditing systems, policies, objectives, and procedures.
Develop and review environmental specifications and criteria during project design phases.
Oversee and contribute to the implementation of Environmental Management Systems & Programs (EMS&P) and Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
Conduct, prepare, and review environmental studies and reports (assessments, audits, monitoring, investigations) for internal stakeholders and government entities.
Assess environmental impacts of projects and activities undertaken by KAHRAMAA and its facilities.
Coordinate with competent authorities to fulfill environmental assessment and permitting requirements and secure necessary approvals.
Ensure projects, activities, and facilities adhere to all permit conditions and requirements.
Monitor environmental KPIs, including waste management, energy consumption, water use, and emissions; recommend corrective actions where performance is below target.
Implement KAHRAMAA’s Environmental Database Program, including data collection, verification, validation, assessment, and reporting.
Collect environmental samples from ambient sources, sites, and contaminated / suspected contaminated areas; analyze results and prepare assessment reports.
Support sustainable project development by reviewing designs and operations for environmental impact and recommending greener alternatives.
Propose plans to overcome obstacles to achieving environmental sustainability.
Conduct environmental workshops and maintain environmental risk registers.
Deliver awareness and training programs to employees, contractors, and stakeholders on environmental management, sustainability goals, carbon awareness, and hazardous materials.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to graduates, engineers, technicians, and specialists on environmental aspects.
Maintain accurate records related to chemical inventories, complaint investigations, and shipment of hazardous waste.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department to secure and maintain ISO certifications.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science / Engineering, or in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical / Biological Science with environmental experience.
Over 10 years of experience in environmental management, including at least 4 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a large utility company.
Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
Proficient in MS Office, report writing, and presentations.
Must pass interview conducted by KAHRAMAA.
Availability for mobile communication during and outside office hours for emergency contact.
