Doha English Speaking School (DESS) is a leading not-for-profit preparatory school in Qatar, renowned for its excellence in teaching and learning. We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and committed Foundation Stage One Teacher to join our Early Years team in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment that values creativity, curiosity, and child-centred learning.

Responsibilities / What You Will Do

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in the Foundation Stage One (Early Years).
  • Promote high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Bachelor of Education (or equivalent) with specialisation in Early Years.
  • Inspirational and reflective classroom practitioner.
  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Commitment to innovation, professional growth, and the ongoing development of the school.

  • Safeguarding & Documentation

    DESS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. All successful candidates will be required to provide :

  • A valid Police Clearance Certificate.
  • ICPC (International Child Protection Certificate) for UK passport holders.
  • Certified and attested educational certificates and transcripts, notarised in the country of issue and stamped by :
  • The Qatar Embassy in the country of origin, and

  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Qatar.
  • Copies of birth, marriage, or name change documents (if applicable).
  • The school can provide guidance and support throughout the documentation and attestation process.

    Application Information

    The closing date for applications is the 30 November 2025 . Interviews will take place in October / November 2025. Candidates based in Qatar will be invited for an in-person interview and teaching observation. International candidates will be interviewed via video call and will be required to submit a teaching video. Early applications are strongly encouraged, as DESS reserves the right to close the position once a suitable shortlist has been formed. You may be required to answer video questions; these will be emailed to you.
