Overview Operations Geologist
— Doha (Qatar) office. Onshore Rotational 28 / 28. Start Date : 01-OCT-2025. End Date : 31-DEC-2027.
Qualifications and Experience Required
15 years’ experience within a Subsurface organization
Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree, and preferably Master’s degree (in a Geoscience / RE / PE subject)
Good to have experience working in NOC, Totalenergies, Maersk oil.
Strong people leader with project management skills
Accountabilities
Coordinate the geological operations planning and safe delivery of up to 35-40 new wells and re-drill work overs per year across three to five rigs.
Responsible for the well SOR process co-owned with Drilling and Wells entity
Coordinate the activities of the team for fluid functioning between operational follow-up and well preparation schedule.
Supports BOD check to ensure optimal well design.
Regular contacts with services companies (mudlogging, Coring, LWD and wireline logging)
Track PVA (pre-drill well design changes, data acquisition, realised wells, static results etc) for phase 2 and 3 developments
Activities
HSE - Demonstrates personal commitment to the HSE Policy.
Well Planning Activities - Is responsible for the detailed well planning from BOD to handover
Activity performance, reporting and supervision - Coordinates geological operations activities ensuring their pertinence, efficient implementation and quality, whilst optimizing costs to provide a timely completion of work to an acceptable technical standard.
Quality Control of deliverables, final reporting - Ensures Final Geological Reports are issued in accordance with defined timelines and Qualit
State of The Art implementation of operations - Justifies technical analysis and recommendations regarding formation evaluation data acquisition, integrates / challenges / synthesizes multidisciplinary requirements into COMPANY documents (WSOR, Geological Programs, Final Geological Report, LCD Report)
