Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced QA / QC Engineer (Instrument) to join a major industrial construction project in the energy sector. This role focuses on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, ensuring that all quality assurance and control requirements are fully implemented during construction and commissioning. You will lead inspection teams, manage documentation, and drive compliance with international codes and standards to ensure flawless project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Controls Engineering (or equivalent)
- IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor
- IECEx-CoPC, CompEx, or similar certification (desirable)
- Professional memberships or certifications from recognised institutions (e.g., ASQ-CMQ&OE, MCQI-CQP) are an advantage
Experience
Minimum 15 years' experience in large-scale construction projects in oil and gas, power plants, solar (photovoltaic), or similar industriesStrong background in QA / QC for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls disciplines in construction and commissioningSound knowledge of QA / QC aspects, testing requirements, and acceptance criteria for E&I, Telecom, and Fire & Gas equipment and systemsHands-on experience with instrument calibration, loop checking, field instruments, control valves, DCS, telecom, fibre optics, and related systemsFamiliarity with international standards (IEC, IEEE, BS, ISO, UL, IOGP, etc.)Proven ability to review and approve Quality Plans, ITPs, QCPs, MARs, and manage inspections for complex E&I systems including DCS, SCADA, telecom, FGS, CCTV, HVAC controls, analyzers, cabinets, panels, and cablingExperienced in leading teams of inspectors, setting KPIs, and implementing quality surveillance and completion management systemsDemonstrated success in resolving complex QA / QC issues across multiple parties and disciplinesKey Responsibilities
Support contractors in preparing and submitting QA / QC documentation (ITPs, QCPs, Test Procedures, MARs) in line with project schedulesReview and approve relevant QMS, engineering, and procurement documentsEnsure QA / QC requirements are implemented at site and vendor / subcontractor facilitiesLead inspections, audits, and quality walkthroughs, identifying non-conformances and ensuring corrective actions are completedManage non-conformance reports, root cause analysis, and close-out activitiesMonitor construction records, material test certificates, preservation systems, and calibration registersOversee contractor systems for inspection, testing, and data managementTrack KPIs and performance of QA / QC staff, contractors, and subcontractorsParticipate in project QHSE audits and vendor / supplier pre-qualification assessmentsProvide guidance and reporting to project management on QA / QC performanceEnsure compliance with project quality systems and maintain a safe working environmentAdditional Information
