Job Overview

An Automation Technician plays a critical role in the maintenance and optimization of complex automated systems in various industries. They are responsible for troubleshooting and repairing any issues that arise within automated equipment to ensure seamless operation and efficiency. Automation Technicians work closely with engineers and operators to implement and sustain automation solutions that improve productivity. Responsibilities

  • Monitor automated systems for performance and efficiency to ensure optimal operation.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot production equipment problems to enhance productivity.
  • Perform routine maintenance and timely repairs on automation systems as required.
  • Collaborate with engineers to identify areas for improvement in automation processes.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new automated equipment.
  • Provide technical support and training to operators and other staff members.
  • Ensure all automation work complies with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Update software and firmware on automated equipment as new versions become available.
  • Analyze data to implement process enhancements and improve system performance.
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers to secure quality components and repairs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation technology.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in automation, electronics, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in industrial automation or related role.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and software issues in equipment.
  • Strong understanding of PLCs, HMI, SCADA, and other control systems technologies.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Available for shift work, ensuring coverage during all operational hours.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
