WAITER – JOB DESCRIPTION
A Waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Interaction
Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
Present menus, explain dishes, and make recommendations.
Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar.
Serve meals and drinks promptly and professionally.
Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction and address additional needs.
Handle customer complaints politely and efficiently.
Order Handling & Table Management
Ensure orders are delivered correctly and on time.
Upsell menu items and promote daily specials to enhance guest experience.
Set up tables, clean dining areas, and maintain table presentation standards.
Process payments using POS systems and issue receipts.
Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff for smooth service flow.
Dining Room Operations
Prepare service stations with supplies (cutlery, napkins, condiments, water).
Assist with clearing tables and resetting for new guests.
Follow FIFO practices and ensure food safety standards are maintained.
Support the team during peak service hours and special events.
Health, Safety & Hygiene
Comply with restaurant sanitation and hygiene policies.
Handle food and beverages safely according to HACCP guidelines.
Report any maintenance or safety issues to management.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Previous experience as a waiter / waitress (advantage)
Basic knowledge of food & beverages
Fluent communication in English; additional languages are a plus
