Cold Insulator

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support Insulation Work:
   

   • Assist in installing and maintaining insulation materials (foam fiberglass cellular glass etc.) for cold systems like refrigeration chilled water lines and cryogenic equipment.
     

2. Surface Preparation:
   

   • Clean and prepare surfaces before insulation (removing rust dust moisture or oil).
     

3. Material Handling:
   

   • Transport insulation materials tools and equipment to and from job sites or scaffolding.
     

4. Installation Support:
   

   • Help in cutting fitting and securing insulation materials under the direction of senior insulators.
     

5. Safety Compliance:
   

   • Follow all safety protocols including wearing proper PPE and understanding safety data sheets (SDS) for materials used.
     

6. Sealing and Wrapping:
   

   • Assist in sealing joints and applying vapor barriers to prevent condensation and improve thermal efficiency.
     

Requirements

1. Physical Fitness:
   

   • Ability to lift carry and move heavy materials; work in confined or elevated spaces.
     

2. Experience:
   

   • Previous experience in insulation work is an advantage but not always required for helper roles.
     

3. Knowledge:
   

   • Basic understanding of insulation materials tools and techniques (training is usually provided for helpers).
     

4. Team Player:
   

   • Willingness to work under supervision and assist skilled workers.
     

5. Work Conditions:
   

   • Comfortable working in cold environments outdoors or at heights.
     

6. Communication:
   

   • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; basic understanding of workplace safety signs and labels.
