Safety Engineer

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in electrical / mechanical / chemical, Industrial or Fire & Safety Engineering from a reputed university

Not less than 12 years of experience in fire & safety field with at least 5 years in Utilities (power & water) sector.

Fluent in English correspondence. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage

Either CMIOSH (Chartered Member) or GradIOSH (Graduate Member) having NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Also, should have following certification trainings.

Valid First Aid Certificate

Emergency Response & Preparedness from recognized institute

Technical Expertise : Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and standards related to electricity and water transmission and distribution, construction including OSHA, BS, and other pertinent guidelines.

Risk Assessment : Ability to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks associated with utilities operations, particularly in high-voltage environments and water distribution systems.

Incident Investigation : Proficiency in investigating safety incidents, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Regulatory Compliance : Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements and the ability to ensure that all operations comply with local and international fire and safety regulations.

Emergency Response : Skills in developing and implementing emergency response plans, including coordination with local emergency services and conducting regular drills and training.
