Job Summary

The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) is a strategic role that uniquely combines technical expertise with commercial leadership to drive project success across MEA. Reporting to the MEA PWS Sales Director with a dotted line to the Proposal Directors SYSS MEA, the TSS leads the complete technical sales cycle for assigned projects, serving as the critical bridge between Sales, Project Pursuit, Proposal teams, and customers. This role requires exceptional ability to identify customer pain points and power structures, lead technical discussions, and translate complex requirements into compelling, winning solutions.

The TSS provides strategic technical and commercial guidance for high‑value pursuits above defined thresholds, supporting qualification processes and helping teams develop competitive strategies. Additionally, the role includes full sales ownership and responsibility for small to mid‑sized projects, requiring end‑to‑end management from opportunity identification through closure. This position demands both strategic consultation skills for complex pursuits and hands‑on sales execution for direct project management.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • Implement the Pursuit Process and best practices outlined in the guidelines to ensure efficient and effective sales processes
  • Lead and establish Solution architect for project, selecting the best execution model and solutions from Emerson and SYSS portfolios to meet customer needs.
  • Take the lead in addressing technical queries and discussions with customers, providing them with expert guidance and solutions.
  • TSS shall be involved in World Area POR Calls / Funnel Review discussions and shall be assigned as a consultant as per requirement of targeted projects.
  • Assist the Sales team in implementing the PPVVCC (Product Positioning, Value Proposition, Value Drivers, Competitive Analysis, and Close Plan) approach, and if leading a project, ensure PPVVCC is effectively implemented.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with customers, especially during the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase and assist the pursuit team in positioning the right technologies and solutions.
  • Conduct in-depth comparisons of various available solutions in the market, supporting customers and teams with cost-benefit analyses to aid decision‑making.
  • Provide technical expertise for products and solutions to support customers and internal Emerson teams, ensuring they have the necessary technical knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other product Segment within Emerson to maximize the portfolio's value proposition for customers.
  • Meet and exceed assigned sales targets by effectively promoting Emerson's solutions and products.
  • Ensure compliance with Emerson's business processes, including DOA (Delegation of Authority) and TenderVet, as applicable.

  • For this Role, You Will Need

  • years of experience in process Automation / controls system domain.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Customer systems experience from proposal or Solution architect perspective.
  • Strong understanding of Emerson and SYSS product portfolios.
  • Previous project / proposal experience in control systems
  • Excellent technical knowledge on DCS, SIS, VMS, Cybersecurity Guideline
  • Lead or be part of Large Mega Projects, Upgrade program, or large program.
  • Understand the process of costing and Tendering for Large projects.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and manage conflicts externally and internally.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
