Job : Psychologist, Learning SupportWorkLocation : QatarOrganization : Student AffairsWork Days : Sunday-ThursdaySponsorship Eligibility : YesPosting End Date : September 12, 2024Position SummaryThe position is responsible forconducting psychological assessments and performing requiredinterventions to ensure student health and wellness.JobResponsibilities

  • Implements programs to evaluate,address, and monitor student s mental health and personal andprofessional development.
  • Monitors and assesses existingmental health conditions of students, including but not limited tocrisis intervention, relationship management, learningdifficulties, mood disorders, professionalism, adjustment tocampus, etc.
  • Conducts psychological assessments,maintains confidentiality, provides evaluation reports, and timelyreferrals.
  • Performs academic skills assessments andcoordinates appropriate assistance for students with specificlearning needs.
  • Assists with student programs andservices and coordinates with WCMC-Q faculty, staff, and affiliatepartners, including WCMC-New York, Cornell University Ithaca, HamadMedical Corporation, Sidra and Qatar Foundation asrequired.
  • Supports in developing and implementing studenthealth and wellness programs, collaborating with various internalteams to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Supports the developmentand maintenance of policies and procedures manual, ensuringcompliance and consistency in area of operations.
  • Performother duties as assigned.Education & Experience
  • Master s degree (M.A., M.S., M.Ed.) in clinical or counsellingpsychology with 5 6 years of experience in psychological assessmentcounselling promoting mental health and well-being.
  • Licensed professional to conduct psychological assessment andcounselling.
  • Prior experience in healthcare education orhigher education setup is highly desirable.Knowledge, Skills andAbilities
  • Knowledge of psychological theories,principles, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Thoroughknowledge of mental health issues affecting young people.
  • Knowledge of ethical and legal standards related to the practice ofpsychology.
  • Empathy, compassion, and the ability toestablish and maintain therapeutic relationships.
  • Abilityto manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact andprofessionalism.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizationskills, and ability to multi-task within demandingtimeframes.
  • Ability to work in a multiculturalenvironment.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English andArabic (desirable).
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite ofproducts Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,etc.
