Black & Grey HR is recruiting for an established technology solutions and services provider in Doha, Qatar. Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Venue Technology Delivery who will be responsible for leading the deployment of cutting‑edge technology solutions within sports venues, enhancing the technological infrastructure for international sporting events. This role is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end project lifecycle, ensuring the successful delivery of technology that meets the high‑stakes demands of major events.
Key Responsibilities
End‑to‑End Project Management & Delivery
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of Venue Technology projects, from initial concept through to operational handover.
- Lead the preparation of RFPs, vendor coordination, tender processes, and final transition to Venue Technology operations.
- Develop and manage all formal project documentation, including integrated project plans, functional / technical specifications, and requirements based on operational needs.
- Directly manage project execution, coordinating efforts between vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders.
Stakeholder & Technical Leadership
Partner with Venue Technology operations, customers, and event organizers to define project scope, expectations, and technical requirements.Monitor vendor contract performance against requirements, ensuring compliance and maintaining client satisfaction throughout the delivery phase.Provide technical direction to the delivery team, ensuring designs are compatible, meet all standards, and achieve lifecycle cost targets.Planning, Reporting & Coordination
Manage and report on activities, resources, and progress for all Venue Technology projects.Deliver regular program updates to senior management.Lead and participate in coordination meetings with vendors and external partners.Provide direction and oversight to subordinate team members to achieve project objectives.Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years in IT, with at least 7 years in a similar technology project delivery role.A minimum of 4 years of experience within the sports industry (Mandatory).Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification (Mandatory).Required Skillset
Proven experience managing large‑scale ICT, AV, or ELV projects in sports venues or similar large, complex environments.Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and managing technology for SMART stadiums, venues, and mega‑events.Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.Proficiency in reading and creating technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.Excellent problem‑solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.Strong leadership and communication skills for effective stakeholder management.Benefits
