Accountabilities
Ensure all fluids and cementing activities comply with operational, safety, and environmental standards.
Optimize fluids engineering and related operations to support safe and efficient well execution.
Oversee field operations related to fluids, cementing, and waste management while coordinating activities across service providers and drilling contractors.
Activities
HSE Responsibilities
Demonstrate strong personal commitment to company HSE policies, safety programs, and awareness initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all statutory and company HSE standards.
Verify that company and contractor personnel follow applicable HSE rules in fluids, cement, waste management, and related operations.
Operational Responsibilities
Optimize the application of fluids, cementing, and waste management services in the field.
Ensure that all fluids and cement programs are communicated, understood, and followed by all involved personnel.
Assist the Drilling Supervisor in optimizing well performance.
Apply drilling fluids engineering studies and perform daily drilling simulations using relevant software.
Provide detailed analysis of fluids and cement operations to capture lessons learned and improve future performance.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare phase reports, final recaps, and end-of-well documentation, including environmental discharge summaries.
Record and report KPIs at well completion, including any service company issues or operational inefficiencies.
Ensure accurate, high-quality reporting in WELLVIEW or other designated systems.
Report chemical consumption, daily operational updates, and forward plans to the Fluids Superintendent.
Communicate any operational constraints to the Drilling Supervisor and Fluids Superintendent.
Quality & Assurance
Verify mud and cement system quality, stock levels, consumption, and contractor reporting accuracy.
Review laboratory analyses and ensure integrity of fluids-related testing.
Investigate and report any equipment failures, non-conformance services, or solids control performance issues.
Check that job tickets and invoices align with executed work and contractual terms.
Logistics & Coordination
Oversee field logistics, chemical inventory, and materials management for fluids and cementing.
Monitor and follow up all field activities, including waste management processes.
Training & Support
Support and motivate field personnel to maintain high operational standards.
Participate in crisis response training and emergency response activities when required.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
Education
Degree-level education or equivalent technical / engineering qualification.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of offshore drilling operations experience.
Strong technical knowledge in drilling fluids, cementing, and environmental compliance.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of fluids, cementing operations, and associated engineering practices.
Knowledge of relevant operational and environmental standards and regulations.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
