JOB DESCRIPTION Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world Wood is actively seeking Expressions of Interest for the role of Senior Pipeline Designer to support future growth in our expanding business. The projects team focuses on delivering across FEED, Pre-FEED, Brownfield, and Greenfield scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for executing project work in line with the project execution plan, including Wood and / or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control within the man-hour, cost, and schedule targets. This is a long-term assignment based in Qatar. RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Pipeline Designer will be responsible for : Developing working drawings, within company and industry standards and codes, from equipment specifications and detailed drawings to support engineering deliverables. Creating drawings involving plans, layouts, calculations, and bills of material. Working on assignments involving various design procedures and techniques. Recording observations, performing calculations, and preparing reports on assignments. Performing layouts, design, and checking work from basic data supplied. Designing and making detailed drawings from rough sketches involving intricate calculations and fundamental engineering principles. Establishing project drafting standards and monitoring their conformance. Identifying cost-effective solutions to design problems. Assisting in the preparation of bid evaluations. Designing and constructing models, prototypes, processes, or equipment; compiling and evaluating data, making recommendations, and preparing reports. Preparing estimates of time, quantities, materials, and labor required for activities related to testing, installation, manufacturing, design, or construction. Generating bills of materials from finished designs. At more experienced levels, acting as a coordinator on small projects and preparing specifications for complex equipment and processes. Ensuring quality in design and technical accuracy in drawings and material quantities, including reviewing others' work at senior levels. Planning assigned work effectively and liaising with the project team and line manager to control man-hours and achieve targets. Carrying out site visits / surveys and providing inputs to site visit reports. Designing the future.
