Senior Planning Engineer (Design Company)

Skills Job Purpose : The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules for mega development projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, contractual requirements, and stakeholder expectations. The role involves preparing detailed schedules, performing progress analysis, identifying potential delays, and proposing recovery or crash programs to maintain timelines.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using the latest planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).

Prepare baseline programs, resource-loaded schedules, and progress measurement systems.

Monitor project progress and prepare regular status reports highlighting delays, variances, and corrective actions.

Perform time impact analysis, recovery, and crash programs for critical project milestones.

Support project management and construction teams with accurate forecasting and resource optimization.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, procurement, construction, and finance) to ensure schedule integration and alignment.

Identify potential risks and opportunities in the project timeline and recommend mitigation measures.

Provide schedule-related inputs for claims, extensions of time (EOT), and project reporting.

Ensure compliance with company planning standards and procedures across all project phases.

Participate in project meetings, presenting schedule status and critical path updates.

Qualifications & Experience :

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum

10 years of overall experience , including

3 years in the GCC

region.

Proven experience in

mega project development

(preferably mixed-use, infrastructure, or hospitality).

Proficiency in

Primavera P6 ,

MS Project , and other advanced planning and reporting tools.

Strong understanding of

critical path analysis, resource leveling, and crash programming .

Excellent analytical, communication, and coordination skills.

Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, multi-cultural project environments.

Preferred : Experience in

EPC or large-scale construction environments .

Knowledge of

cost control, risk management, and project reporting tools .

Certification in

Primavera P6

or equivalent project management software.
