Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a background in hospitality and facility management to join our dynamic team in Doha, Qatar. This role is integral to our financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards specific to the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with a focus on financial analysis, tax compliance, and audit support. You will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and contributing to strategic financial planning. As a Senior Accountant, you will collaborate with various departments, particularly in hospitality and facilities management, to ensure financial integrity and provide insights that drive business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards relevant to the hospitality and facility management sectors.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries specific to hospitality operations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies related to vendor and client transactions in the hospitality industry.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insightful analysis of variances that impact operational efficiency in hospitality and facilities management.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and assist in tax filings and audits, focusing on industry-specific requirements.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures tailored to enhance operational efficiency in hospitality and facility management.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits to provide necessary documentation and support, particularly for hospitality-related transactions.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development within the hospitality context.
- Utilize accounting software to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy, focusing on hospitality management systems.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement in hospitality operations.
Preferred Candidate
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role in a corporate environment, specifically in the hospitality or facility management sectors.Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and compliance regulations as they pertain to hospitality operations.Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, particularly in financial reporting for the hospitality industry.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, especially in hospitality settings.Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with hospitality management ERP systems is a plus.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to stakeholders in the hospitality sector.Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to mentor junior staff within a hospitality-focused team.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus, enhancing communication in the local hospitality context.Skills
