Job Purpose
The Storekeeper is responsible for managing the rigs inventory, ensuring proper storage, documentation, and control of materials, spare parts, and consumables. This role is critical for maintaining uninterrupted rig operations by ensuring the timely availability of essential equipment and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory & Warehouse Management
Receive, inspect, and record all incoming materials, including drilling tools, spare parts, chemicals, and PPE.
Maintain accurate stock levels using inventory systems (SAP, Oracle, or manual tracking).
Organize and label storage areas to ensure easy access, safety, and compliance with material handling standards.
Implement proper segregation and storage for hazardous materials as per safety regulations.
2. Issuance & Documentation
Issue equipment, tools, and consumables to rig personnel as per approved requests.
Maintain accurate records such as GRNs (Goods Received Notes), MRNs (Material Requisition Notes), and daily stock reports.
Track and monitor critical spare parts (e.g., BOP components, drilling tools) to prevent operational downtime.
Support inventory audits and ensure documentation accuracy for compliance purposes.
3. Compliance & Safety
Follow all QatarEnergy (QP) and contractor-specific HSE policies and standards.
Ensure safe handling, labeling, and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials (including H2S-related items).
Conduct monthly stock audits and immediately report discrepancies or shortages.
4. Coordination & Reporting
Liaise with onshore logistics coordinators for the timely resupply of materials and consumables.
Prepare and submit daily and weekly inventory reports to the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) and rig management team.
Support emergency requisitions for urgent items such as critical spares or medical supplies.
Requirements
Experience :
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Storekeeper (offshore or oil & gas industry preferred).
Familiarity with drilling rig inventory, including tubulars, BOP components, and mechanical spares.
Certifications :
Valid BOSIET / FOET with HUET (mandatory for offshore Qatar).
H2S Awareness and Basic Firefighting certifications (preferred).
Skills :
Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in inventory management systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural offshore environment.
Knowledge of HSE and material handling standards.
Additional Information
This position follows a 35 / 35 rotational schedule offshore Qatar. The role requires reliability, accuracy, and strict adherence to safety and inventory control procedures to ensure smooth rig operations.
