The Mechanical Technician will work with the cell leader of the Qatar Service Center to ensure all Baker Hughes standards and organizational needs are met. He / She will be responsible for performing GT / CC rotor disassembly / assembly / balancing / machining and mechanical balancing activities on the gas turbine rotors in the organization.

Responsibilities

• Performing de‑stacking and restacking of heavy‑duty axial compressor rotors and turbine rotors individually.
• Performing de‑stacking and restacking of centrifugal compressor rotors individually.
• Performing disassembly / assembly of buckets from gas turbine rotors.
• Performing dimensional run‑out (mechanical & electrical) and visual inspections of gas turbine / centrifugal compressor rotors.
• Operating dynamic balance machines (horizontal / vertical) to locate imbalance points on parts such as rotors, compressor discs, shafts, impeller wheels, and balances parts by removing excess metal using hand tools and power tools or adding weights.
• Operating and performing turning, drilling, milling, grinding, and boring activities to required specifications.
• Maintaining relationships with other teams within the organization and providing balancing troubleshooting support.
• Checking machinery daily to guarantee functionality.
• Ability to understand rotor dynamic behaviours, diagnose residual unbalance values, and correct them to requirement.
