Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Offshore Inspector to support a major onshore oil and gas project in Doha, Qatar. This is a 2-year contract with the possibility of extension, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical inspection and integrity assurance activities in a dynamic operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct external visual inspections and perform or witness NDT on static equipment such as vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, pressure safety devices, piping, and lifting equipment in accordance with company procedures and international standards.

Perform preliminary integrity assessments of static equipment and piping, interpret findings, and generate inspection reports using Meridium or similar asset integrity software.

Monitor maintenance and capital project activities in the field to ensure compliance with welding, painting, fabrication, and installation standards and procedures.

Carry out or supervise NDT techniques including PT, MT, UT, RT, hardness testing, eddy current, IRIS, thermography, PMI, metallography, boroscopy, DFT measurement, and ferrometer testing.

Initiate inspection recommendations using Meridium or appropriate notifications and track them to closure to mitigate potential risks.

Maintain inspection instruments and tools in optimal condition; coordinate procurement of additional equipment as needed.

Support the Inspection Engineer / Senior Inspection Engineer in achieving annual inspection targets and executing special assignments.

Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of inspection records in digital systems, including SAP and Meridium.

Supervise contractor inspection teams to ensure compliance with company standards and quality expectations.

Qualifications

Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering or equivalent.

Skills Experience

Minimum 4 years of in-service inspection experience in the oil and gas industry.

Familiarity with static equipment, piping systems, and associated inspection techniques.

Skills & Competencies

Proficient in English (written and verbal).

Strong computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, and inspection data management systems (e.g., Meridium).

Knowledge of inspection technologies : UT, MT, PT, RT, and Advanced NDT methods.

Awareness of risk-based inspection methodologies, corrosion mechanisms, and corrosion control.

Understanding of plant processes, materials, and international codes and standards (API, ASME, etc.).

Certified in API 510 / 570 or equivalent; API 653 certification is an advantage.
