Overview

A Pizza Restaurant is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by providing prompt and friendly service at the front counter. You will be responsible for processing transactions, handling customer inquiries, and maintaining an organized and clean work area. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to handle transactions accurately. This position offers a dynamic work environment where you can meet new people and work as part of a dedicated team focused on delivering a great dining experience for every customer.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers with a friendly demeanor and provide prompt service.
  • Accurately process cash and credit card transactions using the POS system.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding menu items and restaurant services.
  • Maintain a clean and organized counter area to ensure efficient service.
  • Assist in handling customer complaints with a positive attitude and escalate when necessary.
  • Monitor inventory of cash register supplies and report shortages to a manager.
  • Ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the end of each shift without discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and waitstaff to ensure seamless customer service.
  • Promote menu specials and upsell additional items to enhance sales.
  • Participate in training sessions and adhere to all safety and health regulations.
  • Comply with all restaurant policies and procedures regarding payments and refunds.
  • Provide assistance in maintaining overall cleanliness of the dining and kitchen areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.
  • Previous experience as a cashier or in customer service is a plus.
  • Strong numeracy skills and the ability to handle financial transactions accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for customer interaction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
