Overview
This role plays a key part in the development and improvement of a sustainable system for material management and planning. The position acts as a central point between onshore teams, offshore teams, the warehouse, and other internal stakeholders, with a focus on driving efficiency, minimizing downtime, and ensuring material availability through SAP systems and best practices. Key Accountabilities
Act as the main contributor to the continuous improvement of material management systems and processes. Manage and improve workflows developed through SAP in coordination with Warehouse and other departments. Monitor and report the status of maintenance materials at all stages using SAP / PALM. Create and implement procedures supporting effective material management and drive process enhancements. Support alignment and collaboration across onshore, offshore, warehouse teams, and external vendors. Key Responsibilities
HSE & Compliance
Foster a strong safety culture and drive incident-free operations. Ensure HSE compliance in all related activities. Monitor contractor and personnel adherence to HSE standards. Material Coordination & Support
Provide technical and administrative support to offshore and onshore personnel. Act as liaison between maintenance teams and warehouse for repair / refurbishment and material return. Ensure continuous flow and timely availability of required materials. Coordinate material management for shutdowns, campaigns, and base operations. Process & System Optimization
Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency in material workflows. Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation, including service processes, tagging, tracking, and SOPs. Support the repair process for maintenance equipment, including vendor follow-ups and QA / QC tracking. Initiate re-certification, testing, and calibration for critical components (e.g., valves, gauges). System & Data Management
Utilize SAP / PALM for material tracking, planning, and reporting. Maintain up-to-date certification and documentation records. Contribute to audits and ensure compliance with document control procedures. Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as focal point for warehouse, offshore, and vendor communication related to materials. Interface with planning teams and use scheduling tools such as Primavera. Support vendor performance reviews with data and statistics. Promote consistency and best practices across assets. Participate in cross-department coordination and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications & Experience
Education :
Industry-recognized technical diploma or qualification in a relevant field. Experience :
Minimum
10 years
of experience in a similar materials / logistics role within the oil and gas industry; strong background in both offshore and onshore operations; hands-on experience with SAP / PALM or equivalent computerized maintenance systems; familiarity with
Primavera
planning / scheduling tools. Skills & Competencies :
Solid understanding of maintenance, logistics, and material management workflows; strong knowledge of process safety standards and equipment certification requirements; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.); excellent communication skills in
English , both written and spoken; resilient, proactive, and able to work across departments and with senior stakeholders; strong documentation and reporting skills.
