Senior Mechanical Engineer (Onshore Pipelines) Doha Qatar

We are looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Onshore Pipelines) for a national oil and gas operator in Doha Qatar.

Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant post graduate experience in Oil & Gas industry, of which 6 years should be in Pipeline Engineering.

Fluency in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct Pipeline Engineering activities for projects from initial concept definition phase through to engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning.

Create, develop and review workscopes for projects and other engineering activities.

Ensure the workscope is comprehensive and clear.

Ensure required client technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in workscopes and whilst conducting Pipeline Engineering activities.

Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.

Support Engineering Department to review, update and apply client standards and client amendments to external standards.

Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements.

Carry out in‑house site surveys, engineering and design.

Produce, review, check and approve in‑house designs and specifications.

Coordinate designs, specifications and workscopes created by multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance.

Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues.

Develop, update and monitor schedules for in‑house engineering activities.

Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.

Review and evaluate contract changes / variations to approved guidelines and practices.

Support the development of personal technical competency and skills of coworkers.

Participate in structured training for Associate Engineers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering (or similar).

Chartered or Professional Engineer status, or equivalent, is preferable.

Minimum 10 years of relevant post graduate experience in Oil & Gas industry, of which 6 years in Pipeline Engineering.

Ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and codes related to Pipeline Engineering.

Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple‑project environment.

Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency for presentations.
