We have a current opportunity for a Ruya WHP Electrical Lead on a contract basis. The position will be based in Doha / China (Offshore / Onshore). For further information about this position please apply.

Contract Duration : 1st February 2026 – 31st August 2027. Work location : Doha / China (Offshore / Onshore). Work Schedule : 8-10 hours per day from Sunday to Thursday onshore / 12 hrs 7 days offshore.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree or equivalent in engineering.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the offshore oil & gas industry with minimum 5 years’ experience in a lead commissioning role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS, lighting, and grounding.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (IEC, NEC, ATEX, etc.).
  • Experienced with NOC Standards (Total General Specifications), OPERCOM and ICAPS, PRODOM / MANASA DCC Database and relevant codes and standards.
  • H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET trainings.

EPCIC PREPARATION PHASE

  • Ensure proper implementation of all pre-commissioning / commissioning disciplines.
  • Ensure ICAPS database population.
  • Maximize onshore commissioning and minimize lost time due to interfaces.
  • Ensure that the Electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning spare parts, consumables equipment, special tools, etc are sufficient and available in time.
  • Ensure ICSS / Instrumentation equipment preservation strategy and procedure.

    • EPCIC COMMISSIONING EXECUTION PHASE

  • Follow the contractor’s Electrical commissioning activities using the OPERCOM® Methodology and ICAPS© (Integrated Commissioning And Progress System) software.
  • Follow the execution of Electrical commissioning activities to achieve commissioning schedule completion target.
  • Lead the execution of electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including loop checks, insulation resistance tests, functional testing, and energization.
  • Ensure all electrical systems (LV / MV / HV) are commissioned in compliance with project specifications and international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE).
  • Supervise energization of electrical systems ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
  • Ensure Electrical status and reporting and maintain accurate records of commissioning progress and issues.
  • Participate in risk assessments and method statement reviews.
  • Lead electrical safety awareness and toolbox talks.
