JobSummary :

The Revenue Auditor is a member ofthe Revenue Cycle Team. The post holder must have an understandingof hospital coding, billing and reimbursement rates, and otherfunctions related to Revenue Cycle. The incumbent must haveknowledge of industry standards and practices related to billingand account receivable management and implement such to ensurecompliance with all regulatory requirements. S / he must haveextensive knowledge of ICD-10, DRG, and CPT / HCPCS coding systems.The Revenue Auditor runs routine audits of the chargemaster andreports any findings to the team for correction. S / he hasdemonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all regional andfacility levels. The Revenue Auditor is able to investigate,analyze and resolve issues at a high level. The incumbent also hasthe ability to work efficiently and accurately, and collaborateswith other team members to resolve issues.

KEYROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES :

• Performs weekly auditsof the chargemaster to ensure charge accuracy and compliance withall pricing.
• Performs routine audits of eachhospital department’s Posted Charges reports in order tomaximize charge capture.
• Facilitatesdevelopment of strategies to improve reimbursement afteridentifying trends that negatively impact revenuecapture.
• Performs routine audits of eachhospital department’s Posted Charges reports in order tomaximize charge capture and ensure correct reporting of medicalservices.
• Performs weekly audits of thechargemaster to ensure charge accuracy and compliance with allpricing.
• Liaises with the Analyst –Clinical Billing Compliance and Systems & ContractsSpecialist to implement changes in the chargemaster and / or ContractManagement that were identified during routineaudits.
• Analyzes coding and charging byOutpatient departments following billing guidelines for high riyaldepartments, i.e.; Emergency Room, Specialty Clinics, proceduresperformed within the clinics.
• Actively seeksopportunities to positively impact Revenue Integrity workflows andmetrics, utilizing experience to identify process improvement needsand to design and implement best practices.
• Works with other departments, physician offices and the TrainingSpecialist to adapt best practices to changing needs within thehealthcare environment. Escalates issues to Manager when adepartment is not responsive to suggestions for preventing revenueloss.
• Maintains an understanding ofSidra’s Choice / No Choice policy and how it relates topatient liability and Contract Management rules within the Cernersystem.
• Provides analysis to supportSidra's service / procedure complianceprograms.
• Treats colleagues, patients, andvisitors with dignity and respect at all times and promotes andmaintains effective communication and teamwork

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE ANDSKILLS :

ESSENTIALPREFERRED

Education Bachelor’s Degree incommerce, health information or relevant discipline.Master’s Degree in commerce, health information orrelevant discipline.

Experience 3+ years of experience inhealthcare compliance, auditing, quality control, finance, andmedical affairs. Extensive knowledge of medical devices or thepharmaceutical industry is highly relevant.

Certification andLicensure Coding certification for hospital and / orphysician.
