الوصف الوظيفيDoctor of Medicine (MD) degree with specialization in Occupational Medicine (Board-certified or Master's degree in Occupational Health and Industrial Medicine) Valid license to practice as an Occupational Medicine Specialist in Qatar, including completion of the Qatari evaluation as a specialist and Dataflow verification for foreign specialists Minimum 7- 8 years of experience in Occupational Medicine or a related field, preferably in the medical sector, with at least 5-6 years of experience in the GCC region in a similar or equivalent role within a Commercial or Industrial Occupational Health Department Certified Occupational Medicine Specialist (COMS) Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Occupational Medicine Specialist
Job Summary : The incumbent goal is to work closely with the Medical Center team to develop and implement occupational health programs, conduct medical examinations & provide medical guidance to management on occupational health matters.
Main Responsibilities & Tasks
- Develop implement and evaluate occupational health programs to prevent work-related illnesses & injuries
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and provide recommendations to management on occupational health matters
- Design and implement health surveillance programs to monitor the health status of workers exposed to occupational hazards
- Conduct thorough medical examinations and assessments for employees including pre-employment medical & periodic health checks
- Provide expert medical guidance to management on employee fitness for work, workplace accommodations and return-to-work strategies
- Manage occupational-related medical cases ensuring timely and effective treatment
- Develop and implement health promotion programs to educate employees on healthy lifestyle choices & disease prevention strategies
- Collaborate with the Medical Center team to develop and distribute health education materials promoting a culture of wellness
- Provide one-on-one health coaching and counseling services to employees, addressing their specific health concerns & goals, and empowering them to make informed decisions about their well-being
- Provide specialist consultative medical advice to staff regarding occupational medicine related conditions or issues
- Assist the Company's Occupational Health Safety Team with expert medical advice for risk assessments, reasonable adjustments and the choice & use of PPE
- Keep line managers, department heads, and other stakeholders informed about updates, trends & best practices in Occupational Medicine that may impact on workplace health, safety, and productivity
