Job Summary The Gastroenterology Specialist is responsible for providing expert care and diagnosis for patients with gastrointestinal disorders. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in gastroenterology, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of gastrointestinal health.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct thorough evaluations of patients presenting with gastrointestinal symptoms and disorders.

Perform diagnostic procedures, including endoscopies, colonoscopies, and biopsies, as necessary.

Develop and implement treatment plans for various gastrointestinal conditions, such as inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and gastrointestinal cancers.

Monitor and manage ongoing treatment regimens, adjusting as needed based on patient progress and feedback.

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including surgeons, radiologists, and primary care physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Educate patients and their families about gastrointestinal health, treatment options, and lifestyle changes to improve outcomes.

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and follow-up care.

Stay current with advancements in gastroenterology through continued education and professional development.

Participate in research and clinical trials related to gastroenterology, if applicable.

Job Knowledge & Skills

Proven experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders.

Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures and interpreting diagnostic tests.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach to care.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Knowledge of current gastroenterology research and emerging treatment options.

Experience in academic or clinical research is an advantage.

Job Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of Gastroenterology Experience

Minimum 1 year in GCC (preferred)

Education Professional Qualification in DHP - MOPH
