Lead Technical Officer - Horticulture Join Hamad International Airport as Lead Technical Officer (Horticulture) to oversee orchard, indoor and outdoor plant maintenance, ensuring the airport’s landscape upholds its 5‑star image.

Responsibilities

Oversee all orchard and indoor plant maintenance activities, supporting outdoor landscape upkeep.

Continuously inspect indoor landscape areas and report defects, nutrient deficiencies, pests, diseases, and toxicity.

Recommend remedies and cures using the latest agrochemical products and technology.

Meticulously inspect and audit orchard and indoor plants to maintain optimal health.

Ensure optimal soil and plant relationships to maximize fertilisation efficiency.

Conduct experimental and horticultural tests to determine optimum inputs for healthier plant output.

Oversee contractor activities, ensuring full implementation of contractual SLAs.

Ensure all related work orders in the Airport asset management system are completed to project specifications and standards.

Monitor irrigation network performance and recommend adjustments for plant health.

Report landscape conditions to the line manager with a detailed quality‑assurance process.

Maintain continuous communication with contractors, recommending resource, manpower, equipment, and consumable adjustments to optimise efficiency.

Propose actions for continuous business improvement and outcome optimisation.

Ensure safety measures are applied among all contractors.

Qualifications

High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification / Diploma or Equivalent (type of diploma based on role) with a minimum of 5 years of job‑related experience.

Or Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of job‑related experience.

Essential landscape maintenance experience.

Preferred horticultural‑related qualification.

Preferred indoor plants maintenance experience.

Preferred landscape auditing experience.

Job‑Specific Skills

Writing technical documents and procedures.
