Reports to : Head Pastry Chef / Executive Chef
The Pastry Chef de Partie is responsible for preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. This role involves creating new recipes, ensuring consistency in production, and assisting with the smooth running of the pastry section.
Key Responsibilities
- Create new and innovative desserts to refresh menus and engage customer interest.
- Decorate pastries using icings, toppings, and other techniques to ensure attractive presentation.
- Measure, mix, and bake ingredients accurately while monitoring baking times and temperatures.
- Collaborate with other kitchen team members to maintain quality and consistency.
- Maintain a clean and orderly pastry section in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Check the quality of ingredients and ensure proper storage of all baking supplies.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders for ingredients within budget requirements.
- Guide and motivate junior pastry staff and assist in their training and development.
- Support the planning and implementation of dessert menus for special events or functions.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role.Strong creativity and attention to detail in dessert preparation and presentation.In-depth knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and baking techniques.Ability to work with ingredient limitations (e.g., gluten-free, sugar-free products).Good time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.Team player with excellent communication skills.How to Apply
