Overview

Position is in an OPCO (JV) operating oil and gas facility with offshore / onshore sites, based in Doha, Qatar.

Reporting to Lead Static (N+1) and Head of Campaign & SD (N+2).

Permanent team, on resident basis (40h / 5d a week). Trips to offshore and visits to service company workshops are required on an ad‑hoc basis.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with NOC Incident Free culture, Health, Safety and Environment policy.
  • Deliver assigned Piping and structural maintenance activities on time, within budget.
  • Plan and execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities in close liaison with Departmental Planners, Contracts & Procurement, Warehouse, Maintenance Team Leads, Campaign & Shutdown Coordinators, Inspection department, NOC Operations Centre Manager and T1 / T2 Maintenance Coordinators.
  • Prepare maintenance work packs, order the materials and initiate fabrication for piping and structural CM jobs for SD and Campaign or for Base operation.
  • Arrange vendor mobilization for the spools and structural survey.
  • Key role in short‑term maintenance preparation and support for execution, collaborating and driving integration with a wide / diverse range of Leadership stakeholders, in line with 4‑month, 5‑week planning.
  • Provide input to Leads and Coordinators into the development of annual operational and capital budgets.
  • Interact with external stakeholders (Fabricator and Design office).

Activities

  • Drive an Incident Free environment through strengthening safety culture.
  • Assume responsibility for positive HSE performance of personnel, contractors and others working under the guidance of the Static Team Lead.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, company standards and procedures.
  • Lead cross‑discipline maintenance coordinators to provide robust PPM and CM data to support safe and efficient planning, execution and close‑out of base operations, campaign and shutdown maintenance activities.
  • Provide first‑level specialist technical advice and guidance to site / offshore personnel on plant / equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and investigations.
  • Organize vendors and supply direct support to site requests (vets, spare parts, tooling, technical procedures, work packs and work order resourcing).
  • Support campaign and shutdown teams to ensure overall readiness and execution of scopes in line with campaign shutdown gate criteria.
  • Maintain daily communication with NOC‑OC T1 / T2 and support technical / administrative issues. Attend daily video conferences with offshore OTLs and discipline supervisors.
  • Visit offshore sites regularly to enhance collaboration and promote understanding of goals.
  • Manage onshore draftsman workload and prioritize work based on upcoming campaign and SD.
  • Manage repair process for critical equipment, including visits to local vendor workshops and warehouses.
  • Lead and coach direct reports in execution of their responsibilities.
  • Optimize 4‑month and 5‑week planning, liaise with planning department and attend weekly IOP meetings to achieve gate criteria (spares, vendor mobilisations, tooling, shipment, PR’s).
  • Proactively manage all safety and business‑critical backlog.
  • Monitor efficiency of maintenance strategies for plant / equipment operation and provide feedback to Maintenance Engineering.
  • Participate in vendor / contractual audits.
  • Execute class 2 modifications (vendor based modifications).
  • Prepare IAN planning, fabrication and execution per inspection instructions.
  • Prepare all structural CM work scopes per inspection instructions.
  • Drive management of repairs, overhaul and maintenance of all major rotating equipment in collaboration with Maintenance Engineering.
  • Issue and update permutation / test calendar to separate potential failure linked to running hours and keep standby equipment available.
  • Store all certificates on installed equipment (piping and support drawings) produced during visits in iView / PRODOM.
  • Record all certificates on spare parts scheduled to be used offshore (before stock shipment to offshore) in iView / PRODOM (by logistics).
  • Support the drive for Qatarisation.
  • Act as Lead Static on an interim basis as and when required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs and improve equipment reliability.
  • Act as contract representative with ownership and cost management responsibility for key 3rd party operational support services.
  • Manage contractor / vendor performance.
  • Share and adopt best practices across the company, support and identify opportunities to enhance consistency and alignment between assets.
  • All staff must be willing to participate in Crisis Response Training and assist during Emergency Response Situations if required.
  • Qualifications & Experience Required

    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent, supported by industry experience (offshore and onshore oil and gas facilities).

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the oil and gas industry in a similar role with at least 3 years in supervisory roles.
  • Strong leadership skills in a multi‑cultural and highly technical environment.
  • Thorough understanding and application of industry process safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of cross‑discipline maintenance requirements, CMMS and planning processes.
  • Versatile, resilient and able to interact effectively with direct reports, peers and senior management on a daily basis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a large team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Industry recognised training and professional certification.
  • Fluent in English (listening, writing and speaking) and its technical vocabulary.
