Senior Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

Overview :

We are looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar .

Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Building Services Engineering (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, drainage, irrigation, building compressed air, building medical gas), utility network layouts, onshore / offshore Oil &

Gas installations, with Consultant / Contractor and / or client lead background. Fluency in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide technical design and engineering services in Mechanical Building Services Engineering for all assigned engineering projects. Achieving the technical quality of work in accordance with procedures, whilst considering quality, schedule, cost and HSE.
• Ensure the required technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed, in work-scopes and whilst conducting Mechanical Building Services Engineering activities. Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices
• Directly responsible for ensuring Mechanical Building Services design / engineering Consultants / Contractors deliverables comply with requirements. Assesses and approves / recommends suitability of Mechanical Building Services engineering submissions by Consultants / Contractors
• Single point technical responsibility and accountability for assigned projects, within Mechanical Building Services design / engineering area of authority.
• Support Engineering Department to review, update and apply standards and amendments to external standards.
• Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements.
• Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multi-disciplinary work-scopes for projects and other engineering activities. Ensure the work-scope is comprehensive and clear.
• Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance. Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues.
• Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, contribute to external FEED / EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery.
• Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.
• Responsible for evaluation, assessment and recommendation of new vendors proposed during project phase.
