Senior Project Engineer

Job Title : Senior Project Engineer (Offshore Oil & Gas)

Location : Doha, Qatar (Office-based)

Work Schedule : Standard 5 days on / 2 days off, 8 hours per day

Contract Type : 4-year secondment contract

Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead the engineering and execution of major offshore oil and gas projects. This role is focused on process and gas compression platforms, including jackets, topsides, bridges, and appurtenances. The successful candidate will provide project engineering leadership, manage multidisciplinary teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead and coordinate project teams to deliver offshore facilities and platforms

Prepare and implement project execution plans

Participate in project planning, cost control, budgeting, contract administration, progress reporting, change management, and stage gate approvals

Manage a team of multidisciplinary engineers to review deliverables and resolve technical issues

Prepare scopes of work, tender packages, and evaluate contractor bids, making recommendations to relevant committees

Monitor EPIC contractor and vendor performance, ensuring compliance with agreed milestones

Identify, mitigate, and close out project risks and issues

Manage project interfaces between contractors and stakeholders according to established plans

Ensure adherence to HSE and project quality standards in coordination with QHSE teams

Review and recommend settlement of contractor claims, final accounts, and contract variations

Oversee project handover, including completion certificates, punch list close-out, spare parts approval, and SAP / CMMS updates

Support timely project close-out processes

Prepare internal progress reports and presentations

Mentor junior professionals to support knowledge transfer and talent development

Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (higher degree advantageous)

Minimum 12 years’ experience in engineering, project management, and execution of major offshore EPIC projects

Specific experience in process / gas compression platform execution (jackets, topsides, bridges, appurtenances)

Membership in a recognised professional engineering or project management institution (preferred)

Strong communication skills including presentations, reporting, and meeting management

Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex offshore projects
