Degree from a recognized university or a diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering. Extensive experience in construction, particularly in instrumentation and control systems. Strong background in construction management, effective communication, and conflict resolution. Relevant certifications or training in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA / QC), and construction practices. Experience
Minimum of 15 years of combined experience in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I), including installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning within the oil & gas sector, and large-scale solar (Photovoltaic) projects. Proven experience on large solar projects is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and vendors. In-depth technical knowledge of Instrumentation & Control systems, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, PLCs, SCADA systems, and other industry-relevant equipment. Capable of interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, and control system layouts. Familiarity with industry best practices, project management processes, and construction standards. Experienced in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities at a supervisory level. Skilled in interpreting method statements, construction schedules, and technical drawings. Experience working with multinational contractors is preferred. Strong capability to resolve site issues both technically and contractually. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise contractors during execution of all Instrumentation and Control-related construction activities. Participate in the review of design documents, method statements, material requisitions, and technical submissions. Manage contractor mobilization and demobilization on-site. Oversee inspections, material approvals, construction documentation, and general coordination between construction parties. Perform daily inspections to verify contractor compliance with specifications and project standards. Supervise installation activities related to Electrical / Instrument systems, including site surveys and investigations. Oversee installation of earthing systems, cable trays, and termination of cables for both Fire Alarm Systems and Instrument Control & Power systems. Coordinate routing and layout of cable entries and diversions. Supervise installation and testing of Fiber Optic cables, Fire Alarm Panels, Mimic Panels, Junction Boxes, and Control Panels. Ensure accurate implementation based on Equipment Layouts and other engineering documentation. Coordinate closely with other disciplines such as Mechanical, HVAC, Fire & Safety Systems, and Building Services. Supervise cable termination and loop checking activities. Manage and support pre-commissioning and commissioning processes. Initiate and facilitate completion documentation including Mechanical Completion Certificates (MCC), Handover Certificates (HOC), and Acceptance Certificates (AC). Witness Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and other pre-commissioning tests. Maintain daily logs of progress and report issues or deviations from contract specifications. Sign and manage work permits on behalf of the client, ensuring compliance with safety procedures. Support the development of as-built documentation and ensure quality standards are maintained. Prepare and track punch lists, especially for Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems. Collaborate with other discipline supervisors and report to the Senior Construction Supervisor on site progress, key issues, and improvement recommendations. Enforce safety standards on-site and work closely with HSE personnel to manage safety-related issues. Coordinate with Quality Control Inspectors on all quality-related matters. Ensure work is executed in accordance with the project's quality plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). Resolve site issues and escalate technical queries as necessary. Review and monitor contractors' construction plans, schedules, method statements, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
