Job Summary
The job holder shall be responsible to identify and formulate the national patient safety programs for the healthcare facilities across the State of Qatar.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist the senior staff with the projects and strategic initiatives related to patient safety.
- Coordinate the implementation of policies and procedures on patient safety in consultation with other stakeholders within the MOPH and across healthcare providers / facilities.
- Involve in developing patient safety education and training programs and trainings across the State of Qatar to build capacity in the sector.
- Assist in defining the goals and objectives for the patient safety unit and involve in day-to-day operations.
- Research and evaluate on the healthcare facilities patient safety programs and provide recommendations on how to identify and improve quality related to patient safety.
- Assists program and service teams within the MOPH and across the healthcare sector in defining and achieving specific patient safety goals and objectives.
- Gather MOPH responses into reports or request for information from other MOPH departments or any external agencies, such as World Health Organization, International Health Relations, etc.
- Participate in delivering educational programs, initiatives and materials related to patient safety.
- Involve in investigation and provide recommendations to reported events resulting in actual or potential injury to patients and / or visitors, including root cause analyses as needed.
- Analyse the outcomes of national patient safety plan and provide recommendations for future prevention.
- Help to spread “lessons learned” from adverse events, as well as successful initiatives, to all national healthcare organizations, emphasizing on barriers to the implementation of patient safety programs.
- Generate regular patient safety reports to be submitted to the Lead / Head patient safety for review.
- Perform other duties as requested to meet the ongoing organizational needs.
Essential Education
Bachelor’s degree in medicine or allied health / health-related field.
Required Certification / Licensure
CPHQ and / or equivalent certification preferred.
Essential Experience
Minimum 6 years’ experience in health-related field.
