Music Teacher for Maternity Cover in Lower School (Foundation Stage 1 to Year 2)

January to May 2026 - Three days per week

We are seeking

An enthusiastic, experienced, and committed Music Teacher to cover maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic and forward-thinking environment that values creativity, curiosity, and child‑centred learning.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor of Education (or equivalent) with specialisation in Music
  • Be an inspirational and reflective classroom practitioner
  • Have strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
  • Promote high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour
  • Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and passionate team

    DESS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. All successful candidates will be required to provide :

  • A valid Police Clearance Certificate
  • UK passport holders must submit an ICPC (International Child Protection Certificate)
  • Certified and attested educational certificates and transcripts, notarised in the country of issue and stamped by :
  • The Qatar Embassy in the country of origin
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Qatar
  • Copies of birth, marriage, or name change documents (if applicable)
  • The school can provide guidance and support throughout the documentation and attestation process.

    Application Information

    The closing date for applications is the 30th of November 2025. Interviews will take place in October / November 2025.

    Candidates based in Qatar will be invited for an in‑person interview and teaching observation.
