Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a national oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10-12 years’ experience in electrical and / or instrument maintenance work and must be fluent in English.
Key Responsibilities :
- Coordinate with all location electrical engineers to manage electrical maintenance for non-operational buildings / facilities at all FM locations.
- Direct and monitor planning, tendering, and execution of electrical maintenance works, ensuring cost optimization and compliance with HSSE and relevant procedures.
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to subordinates for handling non-routine and high-cost works.
- Review and approve BOQ, scopes, and technical specifications for new tenders.
- Participate in pre-tender meetings, technical and commercial evaluations, and submit evaluation reports.
- Coordinate site mobilization activities following the issue of Letter of Intent, including arranging access permits, site offices, and material storage.
- Ensure contract procedures are followed, develop and review maintenance procedures, and familiarize staff with latest guidelines.
- Review and finalize scope of work, estimates, and budgets for new projects.
- Develop specifications for facility modifications and participate in material sourcing and quality assessment.
- Coordinate with other sections for feasibility, permits, and work planning.
- Develop annual plans and set objectives for the electrical team.
Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with strong communication and computer skills.10-12 years’ experience in electrical / instrument maintenance, including 7 years in supervisory roles involving costs, budgets, and contracts.Knowledge of local contractors, regulations, and standards.Additional considerations include familiarity with tender specifications, local and international standards, and the ability to understand other disciplines.
